Glad I'm not the only one feeling that way around here... though it was my sr. year in high school.

DITTO-
you "young pups" will be able to keep it going and keep it moving long after those of us that remember "the moon shot" have gone the way of the dodo.

I was a few weeks from starting undergrad. I was planning on taking a dry run drive down to the school to make sure I knew where I was going. Then my mother calls me and tells me about the first tower. I turned on the TV and saw the second tower get hit. That's something you don't forget.

I am not only old enough to have been an adult for 911 but I was serving in the Navy durring the Iranian hostage crisis. Memories of the embassy being over-run were awakened by the events in Egypt and Libia yesterday and early today.

On 9-11-11 I was attending a NI LabVIEW 1/2 day demo. Had my cellphone turned off, so didn't know anything was happening until we took a "short" break, and wandered out to the lobby of the hotel. Turned my cellphone on and got inundated with voice mails and texts from my sweetie, and as I was listening to the first one noticed news coverage on the TV in the hotel's restaurant/bar. Turned to two other attendees, and told them, "If anyone asks, you're from South America", having a bad feeling as to who had done these evil deeds, and knowing that innocents that happened to share a religion or even an ethnic resemblance, might be targeted for blame. The next several days are a blur, spent too much time glued to the TV, calling friends to find out their status, living relatively close to NYC, as well as having family and friends that work in DC/Arlington.

Having been a volunteer firefighter, the 343 members of Fire Department of New York who perished in the attacks remain in my thoughts. They went in after the planes hit but did not come back out.

That happened last year? It feels like over decade to me.
