Is it just me feeling grumpier than usual or is it dumba$$ day on the forums?

I do not think you are alone. I have noticed a lot of people that act or look like their retirement savings is slipping away and the freedom they hoped their grandchildren would enjoy fading into a mist.

Personally I have been walking around with a big grin on my face.

BTW:

Did I ever tell you the story about being beat-up by a bully in grade school and found myself laughing while being beat? When he saw me laughing he started beating harder. I can't expalin why I find myself smiling when I get beat up.

To be fair, the adventure itself was balanced, sending both bobbleheads (now ex-) candidates on the same trip, according to the legend. 😄

Maybe you were smiling because you knew in the back of your mind that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Or maybe something to do with karma....

I heard a story about some kid that everyone loved to bully in school. After college one of the bullies became a successful business man. He lived the life of his dreams but well beyond his means. Let's just say he got extremely creative on his tax forms. The kid who's head he used to dunk in the toilet? He became an IRS auditor after college. Fate brought these two back together for a tax audit.

Another similar story is about a man who after months of looking for work finally landed a job interview with the company of his dreams. He was running a little late and traffic was just horrible. He passed some "jerk" accross a double yellow line who had the NERVE to go the speed limit and gave him a big "FU" with his finger. The slow poke nearly got into an accident trying to avoid our job seeker. Guess who ended up being the person conducting the interview??

Even though they may well be urban legends I love these stories.

I enjoyed those stories Steve, thank you!

I hope I am never in the "interviewers shoes".

But as to things going forward, all is not lost, at least we still have Petraus protecting us in the CIA.

Spoiler
Yes I am smiling.

If this was a late night Steelers game, I would be finishing off my beer and going to bed about now.

Sorry to burst the bubble but Petraus just resigned.
