Another tool... what is it? What is it used for?

Ben - Bricks were most likey used to dam a spring and provide a water source similar to a spring house.

That is two for spring house. The guys at work are guessing moonshiners (home of the whiskey rebelion just 8 miles noth of this site) and the word from my son's future in-laws "something to do with the mine".
With the time change I will not get back to that loaction until Spring. If the kids learn more I will share more. Unfortunately I wil have to put this chalenge on hold until then. maybe all three guesses are correct!

I was in the garage last night so I got some more pictures of other objects.
Some are old, some are new,
None are borowed and none are blue.
This one is required to repair your ...

That looks a lot like a soldering iron tip, but I'm pretty sure that is not what it is.
