Steve,

Im looking into setting something similar to what you described in your Linux VPS Bugzilla presentation.

Can I ask why you chose tagadab.com over someone like devzing.com who offer dedicated bugzilla support?

Its just that there are a few extra steps to setting the system up from scratch via the blank VPS route and im on unfamilar ground there.

Did you find the setup process a steep learning curve?

do the guys at Tagadab provide support for setting it up?

initially we are looking at just getting the bugzilla system up and running with a view to uploading some repositories soon after.

Also, can I access the demonstration videos that your presentation refers to?

Many thanks

Ian

Hi Ian

Hmm it appears that I'm not getting email notifications from this group any more!!!

The reason I went my own way is that I know MySQL to a decent level and managing my own dB allows me to change stuff. So for example I pull all my emails into the database and then link them to a bug, this is something I added, ditto attachments. I can give you the schema if you need it. I'm not protective about the software either so will be happy to show you it. Maybe we could skype/screen share on evening.

I also want to run my project management database, this holds document numbering, project numbering etc etc.

There's nothing magic about a VPS compared to a desktop linux system. You just get an IP address password, online set-up screen etc etc.

The link to the presentation is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGAYYNRorOA

this should be visible from our Google+ group

I never called on their support but claranet who owns them are a pretty good company.

Tell me if those links work for you.

Steve
