pcie-6351 counter synchronization for daqmx edge counting application

Hi,

I would like to ask about pcie-6351 counter synchronization for daqmx edge counting application.

I am getting synchronization most of the time, but once in a while I am getting 50,000 to 1,000,000 counter value difference between two counters.

The two counters are physically wired so they should be reading the same counter values all the time I suppose.

I would appreciate your help in advance.

If I could, I also would like to produce a service request number so that I could ask this to an engineer over the phone.

Hi pchemjjang,

Here's the link to the page where you can create a service request number--that would probably be the easiest way to get in touch with one of our Applications Engineers.

How are you synchronizing the two counters?  Are are they sharing a sample clock?  My guess is that they are not being clocked and software is controlling when the count register is sampled--this would certainly explain the discrepancy.  If you have a small example program I'd be happy to take a look.
