Diadem and clusters

Hi everyone!

I'm a beginner with Labview and I'm searching a way of automatically generate .pdf, .doc or even .odt reports.

I was wondering if I could generate .pdf reports with the help of DIAdem Report express block and that using directly my clusters, or do I need to use TDMS files?

Is it possible to generate interactive reports? Such as .doc files in which we could zoom in/outa graph.

(Currently I'm generating .doc reports with Report Generator Toolkit, making some "screenshots" of the graphs, but it is not very convenient to read...)

Thank you in advance for your replies! Smiley Happy

Hello rafaele,

Normally that Express VI has a Dynamic Data input.

What is inside your cluster?

Can you maybe provide some sample data so that I can verify the conversions that might be required?

Hi!

Thank you for your reply! Smiley Happy

Here is a part of  what I display on my front panel. Is it possible to display gauges and LEDs on reports or is it just charts and graphs?

I repeat myself: I'm a beginner Smiley Wink

Thank you again!

Hello Rafale,

I think I might have skipped a few questions too much then 🙂 :

- Is there a specific reason that you are looking at DIAdem Express VI's?

- Have you ever used DIAdem?

- How should your report look like?
Do you maybe have a drawing about this?

Hello ThiCop,

I've never used diadem before and what I want to do is to create reports automatically.

Currently I'm generating .doc reports with Report Generator Toolkit, making some "screenshots" of my front panel, but it is not very convenient to read...

The layout looks more professional with DIAdem.

Here is what my front panel looks like:

Hello Rafale,

Do you really want your Report to be an exact copy of your Front Panel?

Or do you just want a more fancy report than the one you currently have?

Do you use the current reports for the documentation of your provided code or rather to share measurements with other users?

Or in other words:
How would you want your report to look like in a perfect world where everything is possible? 😉

Hello ThiCop,

We use our current reports to share measurements with other users.

I'm not exactly searching for an exact copy of my front panel but a clear presentation of the measurements, with titles, text, insert some logos... etc. In other words a real layout. Smiley Happy

It would be nice to show the graphs of all the electrical signals ("signaux électriques" in french), display some values of the measurements, some go/nogo LEDs and gauges.

Thank you for you reply!

Hello Rafale,

I just wanted to check something before starting a whole explanation.

Base on you previous explanation it seems like you do have a license for DIAdem.

Am I correct in assuming this?

If yes, then what you can try is "playing around" in DIAdem in the Report pane and check if you're able to create a report that looks the way you want it to look.

If you have any problems while doing this, then don't hesitate to let us know.

Yes I have the license (that is to say the company where I do my internship has the license)

I already try to playing around in the Report pane, but I don't find a way to display some gauges or LEDs, but just graphs and tables.

All I've done is manually create a report from .tdms files, and I don't use .tdms in my diagram... Smiley Frustrated

Hi rafale,

There are no gauges or leds in DIAdem REPORT, but it would be easy to include all the graphs from all the measured channels as you suggested.  You can color the number displayed in a textbox, or you coulde draw a mini-graph for each gauge result with the red and yellow thresholds displayed on it.  Another option would be to use error bars to show the in-range/out-of-range status of each gauge value.

Another option to consider would be to have a graph that covers a wide space left to right with multiple vertical bars (like a graphics equalizer for sound equipment), using a text label at the bottom of each vertical bar to display the gauge name for that bar.
