Should I report Module Errors with "--error.vi"?

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi to all

I'm new to DQMH and I'm not sure how to handel my own Module Errors.

What I have done is open a Document (List) where I define Error Ranges for my Modules.

Now is the question how to implement the Error Reporting in the DQMH Module?

I have read the Thread https://forums.ni.com/t5/DQMH-Consortium-Toolkits/Manage-Error-Codes-of-DQMH-module/td-p/4070324 from 2020.

As I understand the best solution is to create my own Vi's "--error.vi" and add them under "Module->Private->Errors".

Do I understnad it right and is this still the recomended solution?

--Error VI in DQMH Module

--Error.vi

--Error.vi in Module *.lvlib

python007_2-1731422449592.png

--Error VI in AntiDoc

Best Regards

Hello and welcome to DQMH! Thanks for giving it a try 🙂

Yes, I think this is a very good way of defining, using and documenting your module-specific error codes.

Hello Joerg, thanks for your reply! Maybe this Error concept should be discribed in the DQMH Documentation?

Thanks to all for the great work at DQMH framework its a pleasure to use🤗
