Error code: 42. Can't install Viewpoint TSVN Toolkit v1.8.5.45

Hi everyone!

Can someone help me with this issue? I'm having problems installing "Viewpoint TSVN Toolkit v1.8.5.45". I get the error showed in the attached image.

My setup is:

  • W10 64 bit
  • LabVIEW 2013 13.0f2 (32 bit)
  • VIPM 2019
  • TortoiseSVN 1.10.3, Build 28489

I first tried using the TortoiseSVN 1.12.0.28568 which is the newest version of the client, but the Package Information says that TortoiseSVN 1.8.x - 1.10.x is required, so, I downgraded TortoiseSVN. I also tried the solution in this post without any luck. Any help is appreciated. Best regards!

It's been a while since I've messed with VIPM stuff, but if I recall, this may have to do with Administrative privileges needed during install of this package.  Try launching LabVIEW and VIPM as an Admin, and then re-install the package.

Thanks for you response David. I already tried that, unfourtunatly didn´t work. I´m not sure what I´m doing wrong.

Best regards

Well the error is happening in the pre-install VI which is written by the developer of the TSVN toolkit (Viewpoint).  If the VI is not password protected, you can open it up from your temp folder and inspect it to see what may be going wrong.  If it is protected, the only people who can probably help you out is Viewpoint.

Did you meant the Temp Windows Folder? If you did, I checked it and there is no folders regarding the TSVN toolkit (just one folder for a printer driver that I installed a while ago). Thanks for your help

If you look at the error message you posted, it shows the path to the VI in question, in a temp folder.  You may need to grab it mid-install, as VIPM probably cleans it up when install is complete.

I tried to open the vi as soon as it appears, but it only shows for less than a second. I can´t open it

I cannot confirm or deny that a .vip file may or may not just be a .zip file in disguise, if you wanted to rename it and unzip it that way 😄
