sbRIO-9627 RMC Connector Pinout Mapping

We are planning on developing a custom RMC board to use with the sbRIO-9627 however, we are uncertain about the pinout/orientation of the RMC connector, as the sbRIO-9627 user manual is not clear on that point. Looking at the attached image from the recommended Samtec SEAM-40-03.0-S-06-2-A-K-TR connector datasheet, are we correct in assuming that pin A1 in the datasheet corresponds to pin 1 in the sbRIO-9627 user manual and additionally that the columns on pg. 37 of the user manual correspond to rows A, B, C, D, E, F in the image?

Thanks

Does anybody know the answer? I too would appreciate clarification on this.

Dear Kiron

No doubt you have figured out the pinouts the hard way by now, as l had to.

(Only once the actual sbRIO-9627 board was physically in hand could we see the pin silk screen markings)

No documentation from NI could provide any RMC details for designing PCBs while waiting out their lead times.

NI decided to number the RMC pins in columns of 6. Whereas the connector manufacturers number the RMC pins in rows of 40.

So pin 1 and pin 240 always match either way - at first glance all seems well, yet there be dragons.

.
Attached is a quick PDF I made to help me.
There might be at least one other engineer out there that is going to save time, hair, sanity and and money if he finds this post/pdf.

Kind Regards,

Petrus Prins
