Image for FRC2 cRIO?

Solved!
Go to solution

My team received our new FRC2 cRIO!

Does the FRC2 cRIO ship with an image that is compatible with the software from the FRC 2011 season?  That is, can we simply power it up and start deploying example code from the 2011 season?  Do we have to update the image first?  Can we deploy the latest 2011 cRIO image on the new FRC2 cRIO?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi Geoff,

While we've started shipping the new cRIO-FRCII units, they will not actually be programmable until the 2012 software bundle is released at kickoff in January. Last year's imaging tool won't recognize the new chassis, so you won't be able to deploy any software to it just yet. This was actually noted in Bill's Blog a couple months ago, when he posted information about the new chassis model.

Great to hear you're already getting to work, good luck this season!

Ah, right.  I had read that and forgot.

Thanks!
