Rolling over a 2012 LabVIEW robot project to 2013

I can see in other discussions that we need to re-image the cRIO. How do we go about using our 2012 robot code as a starting point to a 2013 project? Is there a process for rolling over the code to 2013? Or do we need to create new 2013 robot code and start from scratch?

If you want to run your 2012 robot, you can just open your old project in the new version of LabVIEW. Note that this will update your project to the new version of LabVIEW and it won't be able to be opened in the 2012 version of LabVIEW anymore, so you might want to create a backup.

For starting the code for the 2013 robot, I recommend starting a new robot project, which will make sure it supports all of the new features (specifically the simulator and the new dashboard communication protocol). It isn't legal to use software you developed for a previous year this year. See section 4.1.4 of the game manual.

Thanks for the response sciencewhiz. We created a new project which seems to be the best option given the new features. We are lucky that we are a rookie team and the code we have developed to date is very small and simple.
