Threshold image not displaying

I am using the 2011 LabVIEW robotics "Vision.vi" and I am trying to detect a basketball backboard. The original image display works fine, but my threshold image just becomes black and never recognizes any of the colors when I play with the color values. I tried covering up the camera to create a black image and generate a white threshold image, and I also tried a white sheet of paper with some shapes on it. The threshold image remains black. Here is my block diagram

Any answers on what I'm doing wrong?

So its black even if you set all three ranges to 0-255 (this is their default)?  What if you change the mode to RGB for the Color Threshold VI?
