Victor Issues

We are having issues getting the victor to work.  The led flashes orange and does not change color with input. In an effort to trouble shoot i have used the exact same code and wires/cables as our working jaguar set up.  I have tried the pwm cable both ways since that is what the light is supposed to indicate( a lack of pwm signal). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's very hard to get a PWM cable properly seated in a Victor Speed Controller I'd guess this is probably the issue. The good news is that once it's in, it doesn't fall out easily.

When I am inserting the pwm cable it goes in and feels like it snaps in so I thinkin it is seated correctly there is only about 2-2.5mm sticking out when I put it in.  Do you have to really push hard or could it be something else?

Check that the pwm cable is plugged in the right way around. The 'black' or 'brown' side should be toward the outside on the digital side car, but toward the inside on the victor.

It may sound like a trival fix but I've seen this problem multiple times and this was the cause.

Next check the connectivity of each wire in the pwn cable using a multi-meter (or cable tester).

Often simpler to swap out the pwm cable and verify the wire was a problem later.

Another simple test is to plug in a servo at the end of the pwm cable and check that the position of the servo matches what you think you are sending to the jaguar. Note: you must also add the "power" jumper to the pwm output on the sidecar to drive the servo.

If the jaguar works, the servo works, and you had the pwm cable in the correct orientation in the victor, then the victor is blown and need replacement/repair (I'm not sure that you can get victors repaired anymore.)
