drivers station upgrade

I am trying to update my drivers station   but i

am not sure if it is working. i download the ds1.1 from feb, i unzip it,

and then got to setup, but when i do it does not really seem like it is updating it, says it is

finished, but then when i am trying to syn with the cRio it seems like it cannot communicate

via the bridge.  I check in the windows explorer and it says that the drivers station wasa updated

on feb 11 2010, so i am not sure it is actually being updated.  is there a way to insure it is

and or am do i need to unstall the drivers station and then add in the update?

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks john

johncap100,

In the Driver Station go to the Diagnostics Tab you check the DS Version, make sure it says 10.02.08.00. If so, this is the latest version.

This document has lots of good troubleshooting steps for cRIO connectivity issues.

thanks for the info   i did it and still no go,

I can ping from the pc to the router with a cable, i can ping the bridge when i am connected directly to it

and i can ping the cRio.  it just seems like when i try to go wireless between the bridge and router there is an

issue, if i can ping all the components could one still be bad?

i have not tried to reimage the cRio because that does not seem to be the problem,

any more suggestions would be great.

i did check the Ds and do have the 10.02.08.00 version

gettting frustrated though

Robot215,

After you update your driver station, you should re-image your cRIO. What Image version is on your cRIO? You can check this is the same place as the driver station version in the diagnostics tab as long as you are connected to the cRIO.

Try connecting directly to the cRIO with a crossover cable to get its version and reimage it.

HI Ben  or whomever,    i reimaged the Crio and it went fine,   but still having communication problems,

When i plug in the cRio via the crossover cable everything works fine,  but when i plug in the bridge,

the signal light begins the fast blink, which according to our manual means one or more of the following,

drivers station issue,  ihave updated to the DS 1.1, reimage of cRio issue, ihave reimaged, some communication error,

seems like there is an issue between the bridge and the cRio,  i can ping to the router and to the bridge fine,

but when i try to connect the cRio to the bridge i get the fast flashing light

can you give some more trouble shoot????

oh and the verson it says on the cRio is 2010 v20

please help i am headed to regional today!!!!

thanks john  team 1695

johncap100,

Yes, now that you've got everything updated, you need to reconfigure the Gaming Adaptor since we've reset it. Also, verify that all of your IP addresses are correct and that your router has the correct settings. The Wireless configurations can be found in the 2010 FRC Control System STEP 10 - CONFIGURATION OF WIRELESS COMPONENTS.

When you are using the bridge, what items are green/red in the Driver Station. This will indicate which part(s) are not working.

well yes i reset the bridge to the router,  and i cannot get them to talk,  so i am thinking i may have a bad bridge.  i am go

ing to try to reset it again,  and then i guess i will try to buy one,  have heard that a lot of teams are having troubles with the bridge  so much so that last years teams are all buying an extra,  this concerns me some , as i have seen that it is dicontinued  argghhhh.

when i wired the bridge it talks  but when i disconnect it no pinging,   on the drivers station it does say the bridge is the no comm.

any other help is very helpful  thanks much john

JohnCap100,

Trying another Gaming apadaptor wouldn't be a bad step, but I have seen this situation resolved without new hardware. Have you verified that all the settings are correct on both devices (router and adaptor)?
