Hi there,
The short answer is that you do not need to download new software. 32 Bit LabVIEW will run just fine on your 64 Bit processor.
If you do decide that you require LabVIEW 64 Bit, you will also have to be running a 64 Bit operating system.

While LabVIEW is avalible in 64 bit version, LabVIEW for LEGO MINDSTORMS is only avalible in 32bit. As pallen said you can still run 32 bit software on a 64 bit computer.

I mentor a FIRST FTC team (4644). We are using Labview for Lego
Mindstorms that came with this years kit of parts. The team laptop is a Dell with 64-Bit Win 7 as the OS.
When I attempt to install the LVLM Kit of Parts (FTC Templates). I get the
following message:
Installation Details
NXT Module for LabVIEW 2010
Could Not Install
LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Driver (incompatible with 64-bit platform)
NI LabVIEW for FTC 2011-2012 Toolkit
Installation Summary
No software installed or removed.
-------
Is there a 64-bit version of the Toolkit? Is there a way to make the 32-bit Toolkit work? Or do we have to find a different laptop?
Thanks for your assistance,
Lance

Hey Lance,
You should be able to install this toolkit on a 64 bit machine. Have you already installed the 32 bit version of LVLM? It seems like the issue is with the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Driver specifically so you may try installing that driver directly from the LEGO site (http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/support/files/Driver.aspx). Please post back with the results of that step.

I was thrown off by the "No software installed or removed" under the FTC Toolkit. I assumed that the Toolkit had not been installed. But, when I opened LVLM, under the Help menu there was a new item "About FTC Toolkit" that indicated the the 2011-2012 toolkit was in fact installed. The templates appear to be there as well.
LVLM didn't appear to have any difficulty communicating with the NXT even with the driver error message. But, I went to the link you provided and downloaded / installed the driver again just in case, and it appears to be working just fine.
It looks like we are going to be good to go on our 64-bit laptop.
Thanks for the help and the quick response!

Glad to hear it is working. There were some recent updates made to the NXT Driver to enable LabVIEW support for the FTC Samantha WiFi module. It may be that this was the source of the error. If you only plan on using Samantha through the FCS I think you will be fine. If you plan on connecting to Samantha in LabVIEW I'd be interested to hear if it works. Good luck with FTC!
