NXT not detect in Windows XP 64bit.

Hello,

I'm working with FTC Game 2011. I've windows XP 64 bit version installed in my machine and LabVIEW for LEGO Mindstrom 2010 32 bit Verison.

I've installed 64 bit driver support for NXT from NI as well as from MIndstrom web support. However I'm unblae to get the NXT detect on my machine. Can someone help me out in this issue? Can I install the driver manuall..?

Thanks.

Malhar

Hey Malhar,

LabVIEW itself is not supported on Windows XP 64 bit so I suspect that is the root of your issue.  If you need a 64 bit operating system I would suggest using Windows 7.  You will also be able to use Windows XP 32 bit. Please post back if you have any questions on this.

Kevin,

Thanks for your quick reply. I've installed LabVIEW for LEGO Mindstrom on my machine having Windows XP 64bit and its working fine for me. Its ok, I can get back to 32 bit OS that's not an issue but I'm curious to know why this 64bit driver is not working on my machine?

Thanks,

Malhar

Hey Malhar,

Do you get any install errors when installing the FTC toolkit or the Fantom driver directly from the mindstorms site? I can't find any information on the compatability of the driver with 64 bit XP but given the compatability of LabVIEW itself I think you will be happier in the long run going with a 32 bit OS (especially as far as XP is concerned).
