re Darin.K's: "(Insert usual Idea Exchange Kudos = LV Kudos complaint here)"

On occasion, not often, I am one of those Top Kudoed Authors when viewing the leaderboard for All Forums. Yes, I am one of "those people" that some of you are all too polite to mention by name. Having said that, I'd like to chime in and say a resounding "yes" that Kudos from the Idea Exchange should be parsed from the software and hardware boards.

Not that I'm saying contributions to the Idea Exchange are somehow less of a contribution to the Community than posts to the LV forum. However, those of us with a "back catalog" in the Idea Exchange are receiving (well deserved) Kudos just about every day; whereas our historic LV posts are rarely scanned to the extent that the Idea Exchange was designed for.

I default my forum Bookmark to LabVIEW, so I'm rarely surprised who is on top.

Thanks.  I had no idea what Darin.K was referring to there.  I didn't ask because I like to pick my confusion.  It makes sense.

Reading the recent posts had me thinking that in todays day of high tech communications, we are reduced to a single word "Kudo" that has to be used in two different contexts and mean different things.

Might as well be cave men so let me echo that "ug" from all of the others.

Not sure what I mean?

That is my point!

Two different contexts?

! think many more. A Kudo can mean... Great Answer!, Thanks for the Help!, Excellent Idea!, Funny Post!, Thanks for the Link!, I Appreciate the Contribution!, I Agree With You!

What a Kudo should Not mean, but may be used for, is You Again!, and That Sucks So Bad I'll Kudo It.

Smiley Very Happy There was an Idea on the Exchange at one time for Kudos to be complimented with "Boos". I'd hate to see that. Like the old 5-Star method, it would lead to ill will.

That's what angry and unhappy emoticons are for.
