Well, it still kicks me out occasionally, but now it (sometimes) gives me at least 3 places go get back in. 😄

Seems like overkill 😮

I believe the double "session has expired" error is a design issue. We can add this to our backlog to address.

That was an unusual case. Typically I see zero or one expired message on light blue background.

On mobile, I still find myself logged out occasionally, sometimes as soon as after 10 minutes of inactivity. (On the desktop, The session is almost permanent.)

A strange behaviour I observed consistently in the past two days.

I have a link in my signature that points to a list of documents I have contributed and it works, so far so so good.

Sometimes, when I click on some link in that list I enter the document page being logged off the system.

I can consistently test this behaviour with this procedure:

  1. View a forum post I have written
  2. Click on the link in my signature: it points here and I am still logged on
  3. Click on one of the links in that list (e.g. this one)
  4. Voilà: I see the page but I am kicked off the system! Smiley Mad

If I repeat the procedure two or three times I ultimately remain logged in; this behaviour again is consistent.

I can recognize when I will be logged off from the aspect of the links page I see in step 2: if I see the links in bold blue, I will be logged off, if I see plain blue links I will remain logged.

If I close the browser (actually I am using Chrome) the procedure repeats the same way.

Hello RobertoBozzolo,

Thank you for the information, I have attempted to reproduce the issue, but I don't seem to get kicked off.  We will continue to monitor this.

Are you also logged out with any other actions? As in posting a new topic or response, etc.?

We will keep an eye on this, if any other user sees the same issue please let us know.

Karina, I don't see strange behaviours in any other use of the forum, but the one I pointed out here is consistent. This morning I have tried clearing navigation data on my Chrome but the situation repeats the same. On the other hand, I have tried this on Edge and it seems to work correctly but consider this just as a fast trial, I'm not using that browser regularly.

Hello RobertoBozzolo,

I appreciate the information you have provided. When you cleared your navigation, did you clear your cache and cookies as well to see if the issue gets resolved? Is there a way you can attempt reproducing this issue in a different computer or machine? We have attempted to reproduce this issue multiple times with different users and accounts and it is still not reproducible on our end.

I cleared navigation data this way:

I am now using my laptop (Win7Pro SP1 with Chrome) and see the same behaviour. The other computer I was using before is a Win10Pro box.

On both machines I'm using Italian locale, if that matters.

Hi Roberto,

Thank you for the information. We are sorry to hear that this hasn't resolved the issue. We are still unable to reproduce it, so we believe this might be an environment issue. We will keep monitoring this to see if any other users present the same issue.

Best Regards,
