Search oddities

So if I search for "intel", I get some results. However, I want to sort them by date, so I click on that and they are now in a different order. OK!

Now I notice that the search suggests to search for "Intel" instead (same word, just uppercase) and if I click on that term, the results are sorted by "best match". I would expect it to retain the current search order.

1. Why is forum search even case sensitive?
2. Why doesn't it retain the desired search order?
