problem posting from iPOD using Safari

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'm not able to post reponses to the forums using my new "toy", my iPOD touch. I can view the threads, but when I open the replay window and attempt to type into the reply "body" I get no "keyboard". I'm still learning how to do much on it, although have to say that most apps run intuitively (so far), and figure it may be something I'm doing/not doing, but wondered if anyone else had this issue. I really would like to be able to do this, have wifi in the cafeteria where I am working, would like to contribute to the forums without lugging my heavy, big, short battery life laptop with me.

Thanks!

I use my iPhone all of the time to read and sometimes post brief replies (such as this one).  The key is to select the 'Edit as HTML' option.

Thank you! From me and my iPod! Now I don't have to decide between eating and "discussing"

You would never do this, but for the benefit of others who might see this.  Being on your iPhone/iPod/Droid is no excuse to start text-speaking on the forums.  RTFM may be okay, with an occasional LOL.

Putnam:

With all of your LabVIEW talent, why are you working in a cafeteria? Are you creating a LabVIEW based system to take peoples orders and populate their trays with the food they requested?

🙂

What better place to work than a cafeteria? Easy access to food, lots of big tables to spread out your work ...   No, when I am taking a break from "wiring" at this customer I actually go down to the cafeteria, if only for the exercise as it is about 1/4 mile each way (really big building, or a lot of attached buildings). I then, sometimes, want to cruise the forum, which is not work, and found that I didn't know how to post to it from my new toy. I haven't gotten an iPhone or Droid, can't have camera equiped phones in most of my customers. Mine "has" one, but a drop last summer has rendered it non-functional, and Verizon would tell me it is not repair/replaceable so it works out ok.

ROFL!  I laboriously type even the punctuation when on my iPOD (not too hard with its keyboard) or texting (a real pain on cell phone). The funny thing is, as a ham radio operator of ....44 years ... I used to use similar abbreviatons when sending in morse code. So I can't get too upset when my kids text me with them.

Hey Everyone -

Thanks for letting me know which mobile devices you use on the forums.  It helps to know so that we can perhaps add specific mobile device support in the future.

Thanks,

Laura

I'm only using it because I got it as a combined Christmas/Birthday present (darned December birthday worked out this time!). Don't remember life before it though! A lot of music on it, downloading audio books from my tiny library in Bridgeport (it is literaly a 40X40 ft building) and wifi in places it would be really inconvenient to fire up my laptop. Not my primary means of access the forums (yet) but really handy, particularly now that I can post to it!

Smiley Happy

I figured out the browsing from my wife's i-phone but not the posting. I'll have to give that one a a try.

Just browsing the forums for the first time on my iPod touch (as we speak). Now I can be a nerd on the go. If only there was a LabVIEW app...haha
