From a home computer, neither IE8 nor Chrome exhibit the creepy aura. Perhaps, the Doom Kudo glyph is a corrupted cached image on my corporate computer? Stay tuned....

Firefox 3.6.7 at the moment.

Also use 3.6.7 on linux with no issues.

However I didn't see any issues with 3.6.6 either. (windows or linux)

This is interesting.  I was told this would happen in IE6 if we made the change to make the Kudos icon on the forums change color once a Kudo was given.... but I don't think that change happened. Apparently somehow it's already happening 😞

Jack - let me know what you figure out about your corporate computer.  Is it IE6 by any chance?  I don't see the problem in IE8 with or without compatibility mode.

Perhaps, my posts are a source of this Kudos plague epidemic. To test this theory, everyone reading should try giving Kudos to each of the these posts so we can help Laura get to the bottom of this problem as soon as she is able. Report back what browser you were using at the time you gave the Kudos.

Jack / muks - do you see the black Kudos everywhere that you have given kudos?  Or is it just specific posts / people?

I actually am able to reproduce the problem on this thread in IE8...
