Configuring Current & Strain Module

I'm working with a cDAQ  9185 with current input module (NI-9253) in slot 4 and strain module (NI-9237) in slot 2.

On the current module I would like to enable Field Side Power detection so that there is a positive indication of power availability. Likewise, Input Limits Detection.

I've looked through MAX and the Hardware Configuration app but neither of these offered any solutions. A look through flexlogger didn't reveal any immediate means of doing so either.

On the strain module, I need to configure the module to deliver a 5V excitation voltage - again, I was unable to find a means of doing so through the previously mentioned avenues.

Is it possible to use Flexlogger to achieve the above? If so, if anyone could point me to the sections or guides that explain this I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about Field Side Power Detection on the 9253, but for the Limits detection, FlexLogger does offer Alarms in the channel specifications. You could set up an alarm (and also take action on that alarm) if your current goes beyond certain limits.

As for the 9237 strain module, we use them frequently in our lab. You 100% can configure the internal excitation level in FlexLogger. It's in the channel specification tab / channel configuration window. Now, the 9237 card itself has some pretty restrictive limits on how much power it can provide and will auto downregulate it's excitation voltage if the max power draw is exceeded, but that is beyond FlexLogger. If your hardware draws too many amps at 5V excitation, the 9237 allows for you to connect an external excitation power supply. In that case, the channel configuration window in FlexLogger can be used to configure the 9237 to use the external excitation rather than the internal excitation.
