FlexloggerLite offline

Solved!
Go to solution

I plan to use Flexlogger Lite for long-term continuous logging. To avoid forced reboots/updates by my IT team I used the Flexlogger offline installer on a PC that will not be networked. The full version trial has expired and there is a pop up message saying "simply log in to use Flexlogger Lite", to log in requires an internet connection. Is there any solution to get the Lite version running offline?

If you can temporarily connect this machine to the internet and log in using your NI credentials, FlexLogger should not ask you to log in after that.

I'll try and get temporary access with this (long un-updated) PC). Thank you for your help.

Yes, the free FlexLogger Lite requires you to be logged in, which may require internet access.  I believe if you leave FlexLogger running for your long-term test you should be fine after logging in, but if you close and re-open FlexLogger again in the future it may require you to re-authenticate again by connecting to the internet.  I don't know the details, but I believe the cached credentials may expire after a certain amount of time.

The full paid version of FlexLogger does not require you to be logged in, so purchasing a license would be the other way to avoid this issue.  I understand that this might not be something you want to do though, especially if you don't need any of the paid FlexLogger features.

I bought a WiFi dongle to allow authentication that avoids connecting via the LAN. It ran fine overnight and I plan to leave it running over the next week to check its reliability.  After closing/opening the program and after a reboot it's still not asking for my credentials. If it does ask again the temporary Wifi connection is a straightforward solution. As long as it doesn't stop working while logging, which I doubt it would, FlexloggerLite looks to be an excellent option for basic logging/display with NI hardware. Thanks.
