Hi Guys,
Any suggestions? I used both NI scope 3.7 and 4.1, both have "autosetup failed" shown. 5124 is accessable and detectable, but not active. The LED of active on hardware is RED. Does anyone has come cross that before or know where to get help from? Any suggestion is helpful.
Cheers,
Danny

What error messages/codes do you get when you try running Self-Test and Self-Cal? The error your getting is related to the TDC calibration, which might be solved by doing a self-calibration. When was the last time it was Externally Calibrated and Self-Callibrated? All this information should be available in MAX.

Thank you for your reply.
I have done self-calibration on NI scope 3.7. It runs less than one second and was successful. But I just cannot choose the device, it is gray.

And I can find self-calibrate for other device on MAX. But there is no self-calibrate choice for 5124 at all on MAX. I am confused.

Interesting, it looks like NI-SCOPE isn't installed correctly on your system or something, as MAX should have several extra tabs, buttons, and Settings values if the device was recognized correctly with NI-SCOPE. Try completely uninstalling NI-SCOPE, and reinstall version 4.1. This should update MAX to version 5.6 as well.
Since VISA is recognizing the unit, its being enumerated correctly...
After you complete the re-installation of NI-SCOPE, if this continues to happen, then you may need to manually update the device driver in the Windows Device Manager. To do that, just delete the device in the Device Manager, and then the system will re-detect the unit and attempt to install the driver again.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I have done reinstallation of NI-Scope, and yes, I can self-calibrate the 5124 now. Just done that, below is the error occurred. I am not using external sample clock or external reference clock. What is the problem here and what should I do to get it work?
Cheers,
Danny

Does the NI-SCOPE Soft Front Panel now allow you to select the device? (Not the simulated device)
Do you have anything connected to the digitizer? Nothing should be connected when you run self-cal. I'm assuming self-test passed, since it looks like its able to communicate with the board.
Also, I need to know the device part number and serial number. It should be on a sticker on the side of the board.
Currently it looks like the board may need to be returned for repair, and I will be able to confirm that with the device info. (Assuming nothing is connected since somthing connected could cause this error)

Hi,
The serial numbers are 191766B-02 and E5C43A.
I still cannot select the device on NI Scope. Nothing was connected with the device while self-calibrating.
I just restarted the PC and self-calibrate and self test options disappear again on MAX. When I did self test before, it appeared as test failed or something similar.
Cheers,
Danny

Looks like the device needs to be repaired, its acting like the fuses have blown out. You will need to call in to support and create an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). The contact info you need should be here: https://www.ni.com/contact-us/
