LV2023 Q3 Device interrogation failed: Unable to connect to the target.

Hi Andy,

Some delay getting back to you since my laptop cratered.  I'm back on the air again now.

It seems that the Target Configuration VI was corrupt and had a broken wire regarding the Hostname Cluster.  I inadvertently set the bottom boolean to TRUE, and it started up.  Here is the log content:

Connecting to target...
Successfully connected to target.
Successfully connected. Gathering target info...
Target configuration updated.
OS Version: 11.10
CPU:
Systemd Version:
Has Internet Access: True
Device Type: Unknown

Now when I go to the Project Explorer and attempt to connect, the process fails to connect to the RPi.  I'm confused as to why it would connect from the

Tools>>Hobbyist>>Target Configuration menu, but not be able to connect here:

Thanks for any help.

Hi Joel,

Here is a link to a NI tutorial showing the procedure for installing the LINX LabVIEW runtime.

https://learn.ni.com/learn/article/getting-started-with-raspberry-pi-and-labview-community-edition

Please can you repeat steps 10 to 12?

I get the following

The target configuration tool uses ssh to connect to the Raspberry Pi and sends Linux commands to install the LabVIEW runtime.

The project explorer window connects to the LabVIEW runtime process on the Raspberry Pi.

Andy,

I attempted the install process as the steps directed, but it failed.  The log entry:

I think I will uninstall LVCE while I wait for your reply, and then reinstall since I had the one file corrupt in the first installation.

Reinstalled LVCE and started steps 10 - 12.

RPi 3B+  Bullseye OS (Legacy) version.

LVCE Q3 version.

Was able to connect and upgrade the RPi with the target configuration tool.

Launched the example and the Blink Vi launched on screen.

Hit the run button and it lost connection with the RPi and the RPi has not been seen after multiple attempts ever since.

A whole lot of time invested to just make a damn LED blink and still no success.

I'm re-evaluating my need for going the LV / RPi route and it's not looking good.

This reminds me of all the hard time invested into a CRio project I had, and the tremendous amount of frustration that went into that as well.

Apparently this is out of my realm of knowledge, abilities, and technical skills.

Thanks any way for all your help Andy and take care,

Joel
