*************Simulation of Wind Sensors for Wind Speed Measurement with Time Shift ************

Hello experts:

My name is Imran and i am a 3rd year undergraduate aerospace student and also i am fairly new to this powerful software. I am working on a side project with a professor to do experimental investigation on wind turbines in an urban environment. Presently i am only working on simulation, so please try not to ask me what DAQ system am i using. I am trying to create a vi that simulate wind speed from 3 anemometers mounted in a triangular shape as can be seen in my attachement. Using trig, i should be able to simulate wind speed with time delay based on the distance between each anemometer. As you can see from my VI, i have added a square wave and sine wave, because this is to simulate the fluctuations in the wind speed as well as the sudden increase in wind speed. I am having trouble displaying the different wind speed on the wave chart, although i feel that my vi is ok... but i really need help with this so tha i can move onto the next step, which is to do autocorrelation of the 3 wind speed.I have also attached another vi, that i have found online i believe, which shows how to control a time shift in 3 sine waves. I tried to implement this concept in my vi.

I REALLY HOPE THAT I DIDNT CONFUSE THE HELL OUTA YOU GUYS!!! PLEASE IF ANY DOUBTS OR CONCERNS PLEASE ASK AND I WILL GLADLY CLARIFY MY PROBLEM...... PLEASE ANY HELP WILL BE MOST APPRECIATE IT ...

THANKS

REGARDS;

- IMRAN

**PS-->   IMPORTANT-----PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHEMENT(FRONTPANEL & FRONTPANEL(2)) IN ORDER TO SET THE VALUES TO SEE THE SINE WAVE EMBEDDED INTO THE SQUARE WAVE)**.... THE VALUES AUTOMAITCALLY RESETS EACH TIME IT IS CLOSED ...

Hi Imran,

I will try to assist, but I am a bit confused by the message.

Firstly, I would say this isn't the ideal spot to get support -- somebody local might help, but there are better outlets, such as the discussion forums or student community (I see you have posted there too):

http://forums.ni.com/

Also, it is currently NI week, so people at NI are a bit hard to reach right now

Heres is some information I need:

-Can you please clarify what you are trying to do/add? Show all 3 waves on the "Waveform Graph 3"? Duplicate the "3 Signals Shifted" VI on your own VI? Show the time difference in the shifted signals? Please explain.

-Why are you using a timed loop as opposed to a regular while loop?

-Can you please attach your subvi's as well, as they are not embedded in the main VI, as I do not have them, and can not run it.

The "3 signals shifted" VI works by pushing the signal aheas (or behind) a few timesteps. It kind of looks to be what you are doing in your VI.

Please post the VI's and explain what you need and I will see what I can do.
