The Amulet display does not have a dedicated RS232 port.  You will need to use the J3 connector on the display to connect.  If you are using the RS232 connector on the sbRIO then the conenction to the display will be through J3 pins 13 & 18 (true RS232).  If connecting the display to the RMC connector on the sbRIO then you will need to use pins 7 & 8 on the display (UART).

Hi shilpawalia,

There are two options we have available to easily break out the serial communication and power from the Amulet connector. Here are the two options.

Power and communication cable - PN 157570-01

This is a single cable that connects to the amulet display on one end. The other end breaks out into USB (for power) and a DB9 connector (for RS232 communication).

Amulet RS232 and Power Interface Board - PN 783306-01 (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/212317)

The interface board mates directly to the Amulet display and has specific connectors for power and Serial.

Best,

Eric

Hi shipawalia,

As Eric-M mentioned in a previous post, you can use the Amulet interface board 783306-1 (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/212317) to connect the sbRIO to the Amulet.

Craig

The 10-pin IDC serial or CAN headers on the sbRIO can be broken out to a standard DB9 with a ribbon cable.  Many electronics stores that support building a custom PC stock these cables (we have Fry's around here), or NI also offers them for sale.  You can see them here:

NI Single-Board RIO Accessories

The PN is 153158-10 - NI Single-Board RIO CAN/Serial Cable
