Hi!
We have an NI USB-232/4 hub that returns different serial numbers for the rs232 ports, see below.
NI USB-232/4 SN:41433A44
NI USB-232/4 SN:41433A44
NI USB-232/4 SN:14D5788
NI USB-232/4 SN:14D5788
Normally they have the same serial number so i wonder if it could be some hardware or internal software failure causing this?
We are using NI-Serial 4.1 and Measurement Studio 3013 on Windows 7 Ultimate.
Best Regards

Hello,
I am Ed from National Instruments Applications Engineering. I have been forwarded your query which I am happy to assist you with.
If this is only a recent occurrence of the issue, then I would first begin by reviewing your USB Controller ports in Device Manager and confirming that they appear as expected without problem device icons associated, (a yellow triangle).
If they appear as expected then it may indeed be a software issue. For which I would recommend to install the latest driver for NI-Serial which I have provided linked below:
http://www.ni.com/download/ni-serial-15.0/5573/en/
Since this is a device driver it should not impact the application level when upgrading.
Best regards,
Ed
