Yellow Light on GPIB-USB-HS

I just installed my new USB interface. It appears in the devices and interfaces, but when I run scan for instruments, it just blinks (doesn't say no instruments found). Allow the ready light on the interface is yellow. I am trying this with a HP4418 power meter and I search the forum for some information. It said something about modifying the VISA passports, but the link to the information was broken.

can you capture a photo for the MAX and post it here. This will help people to help you.

Hi,

What do you mean by MAX? Thanks,

MAX= Measurement and Automation Explorer. If this is an NI controller and you installed the software that came with it, this is on your desktop.

Be sure to show or just list the versions of NI-488.and NI-VISA that you installed.

The passport is only required if you are not using an NI controller.

I took my wife's old net book and completely re-imaged the operating system (Windows 7 starter) and installed all the NI software. Still the same results. Help!!

Greetings PLL_Geek

Thank you for uploading the screenshot with the NI 488.2 and NI VISA versions, it was very helpful. Please take a look at this Knowledge Base article with troubleshooting steps for GPIB systems. Try the steps outlined in there and let us know if the problem is solved or not. Have a nice day.

Warm Regards,

Hi,

I have it connected to my HP E4418 power meter and it is still saying instruments not found. I ran the troubleshooting utility and both the hardware and software passed. In the interactive utility I get a gpib prompt. Is there any commants I can send? Thanks,

Eric
