We are using our Tensile test machine with NI-488.2 software and PCI-GPIB since year 1999 but unfortunately our PC has some problems and need to change a new one with windows 98. after installing software, i turn off the pc and install the hardware on pci slot and turn again the pc. in "verify your hardware and software intallation" everything was just fine. In " Communicate with your Instruments" I have a problem with Communicator Box Send String: *IDN? What GPIB command shall i write to avoid the error "iberr=EABO " to continue my installation.
Instruments did not respond to the *IDN? query. please HELP.Thanks
