Data Dashboard will connect to NI Shared Variables and LabVIEW Web Services. There is no standard for web service discovery so we rely on the specific protocol used by LabVIEW to discover which web services are available.
Dear Adam, Do you mean that i can use the specific protocol (used by LabVIEW as web server) in my PLC as web server and without any labview on any PC and check the connectivity in labview dashboard?
To have Data Dashboard communicate with a PLC you will need to have a Windows PC or NI RT Target in between the two. I hope this image helps to illustrate this.
