Hi!
I allso posted this question by mistake in the Hardware forum to, and now I cant find a way to remove that post..But here is my question again.
Hi!
I'm trying to comunicate with a 1865 megohmmeter using a DB9 serialport and LabVIEW. I've tryed all kinds of variations of the comands I have found in the manual but nothing seams to work, I only get the message "Remote comand invalid". All the visa settings are defult on both the machine and in the vi. Can someone figur out what is wrong? I will add a link to the manual and my Vi

Have you tried sending the command with a termination character such as carriage return or linefeed at the end of it?

Page 67 of the manual refers to DSR and DTR. Have you checked the status of those lines?
What response do you get to "IDN?" And, as Ravens Fan asked, the response to "IDN?\n" or "IDN?\r"
Are you using the null modem cable as specified in Figure 2-34?

I suggest that you contact IET Labs (see web site for phone and email) and ask them for the LabVIEW driver for the 1865 megohmmeter. IET appears to have acquired this product from Quadtech.
The people at IET Labs are great, and they should be able to get a copy of the driver originally written by Quadtech. If you have the pleasure of speaking to Sam or David, tell them I said hello 🙂

Hi!
firs I whant to say that I by mistake has dubelpoasted this thread, and that it is in the LabVIEW forum as well, I could not find a way to remove one of them..
But you are right,. when I use a termination character (\r) I atleast can get the insrtument to do mesurements. But I still get the same error when I try to read the mesured value into LabVIEW..
