Greetings,

Does anyone know how to receive a signal from the HP8510C network analyzer signifying that the sweep is complete?  I'm using GPIB controll and would like to insure that there has been a complete sweep befor teh data is recorded.  Of coures I can wait for a complete sweep before starting the program, but I wish to include this into the program.

Hi Steve,

Being able to receive a signal that indicates that a sweep has been completed is an instrument specific function.  If you can determine a function that queries the device for sweep status, then it can be incorporated into a program that communicates through GPIB.  For more specific information on the Network Analyzer commands, I recommend contacting Agilent.  I have also done some digging, and found an 8510 Help File that might assist you in figuring out the specific command.
