AI Start.vi - Number of buffers to acquire - equivalent in NI-DAQmx

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I am trying to convert a VI over from Traditional NI-DAQ to NI-DAQmx.  I am having trouble finding the equivalent of some of the inputs to the AI Start.vi

     number of scans to acquire

     number of buffers to acquire

Also on the AI Buffer Read.vi what is equivalent to the

     time limit

I would appreciate any guidance.

Thank you in advance.

There are shipping examples for DAQmx Analog Input Tasks in LabVIEW.

In the Toolbar go to:

Help >> Find Examples  (This will open the NI Example Finder.)

Select:

Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx >> Analog Input  (Then select the type of AI Task you are doing.)

Have you read the help for those functions? I haven't used them since LabVIEW 6.1 and I can't remember what a buffer is with the old driver. For a DAQmx Read Read, you either specify number of samples or -1 (skull available samples).

The timeout is an input to the read.
