Amplifier in PCI-6143? Different ranges?

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a PCI-6143 and the input range are AI ±5V. Are there any other voltage ranges that I can set in the hardware?

I have searched the manual but cannot find any information about it. I remember that I read something about lower ranges but I don't know where. Can someone help me out?

If not, I need to build external amplifiers.

Hi Haddock,

I don't know what you read, but the PCI-6143 manual is pretty clear:

Just one input range.

You can set other (smaller) ranges in DAQmxCreateChannel, but the hardware will only use this one range…

Yeap. You confirm what I suspected and also read. When I saw the block diagram and noticed the amplifiers each channel had I hoped they were configurable.

If I need a lower range then I can use the 5V range anyway. The resolution is sufficient for the task. I just change the Y-scale min/max.
