You can obtain more details to help debug the issue, specifically log files that Windows can generate. Please follow the instructions in Generating and Locating NI Package Manager Error Logs for obtaining Package Manager and MSI log files. Specifically, enable MSI logging, attempt to install again to reproduce the error, and then review the new log files created. You can post the log files on this forum thread for others to review as well.

Simhachalam -

The files you sent are helpful, but there should also be multiple MSI log files and one NIPkg log file created with the error transaction you tried.

Can you find and share these?

  • %localappdata%\National Instruments\NI Package Manager\Logs\WinInstMSI\NIPkgWinInst*.log
  • %localappdata%\National Instruments\NI Package Manager\Logs\NIPkgLogs\NIPkgLog*.txt

The underlying error is due to a custom action failing to start a MongoDB process. Below is the actual log showing this:

Hi Scott,

As I seen from the log you shared, I have found some of the old STS software temp files this causing the error while installing the 2019 Labview and STS packages. After clearing old files then I again installed NIPM from NI website and started software installation. Finally I have installed and it's working fine.

Thank you so much for the responses.

Thank you
