This looks pretty much like what Yamaeda described to you.  If this works, then you should give him credit for the solution to your question.

The reason I selected my reply as solution is because I attached VI that help demonstrate what Yamaeda suggested. Often, users jump to the solution and I thought my reply could provide both recognition for who gave the final solution as well as example to implement it.

I specifically quoted him/her  ("I made the two VIs attached to demonstrate the solution proposed above. ") to provide credit.
I now see that you can select multiple messages as solutions, therefore I tagged his reply too.

You can make it slightly easier by using a fixed VI ref and use the path property of it when you open the ref, that way it's automatically linked if you compile it.
