Hi,
recently, I updated from LabVIEW 2020 to 2023Q3. I am somewhat dissatisfied by the changes made in the UI of block diagram, which changed the behavior I am used to since 1999.
I fixed some issues by setting
DoubleClickWhenWiringCreation=False
DragAdjustWires=False
in the LabVIEW.ini file. I also improved the response time of Quick Drop menu by following https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Bug-Quick-Drop-Slow-to-Open-in-LabVIEW-2023-Q3-workaround/td-p/4319... .
Still, one issue remains: In LabVIEW 2020 (and previous versions), when wiring a wire, I change its direction by pressing spacebar when wiring. In LabVIEW 2023, this feature is not working - LabVIEW just does nothing when pressing the spacebar.
Is there any fix for this issue?
Thank you.

Nobody else experienced issue with spacebar for toggling wiring direction in LabVIEW2023 ?

I never needed to "change the direction of wires" in all the time I'm working with LabVIEW.
Maybe that's the reason nobody answered your message so far?

I don't see any principal problems in LabVIEW 2023 nor in 2024, it still works, may be interference with some other software on your PC? On the other hand I have a feeling, the logic was slightly changed in comparison to older versions, for some cases when you wiring new wire from existing. In some cases you will need to turn off autorouting (hit A key before pressing Spacebar).

I still using Spacebar time to time, but rarely, usually I using A shortcut to turn off auto routing temporarily.

Thanks! In fact, switching autorouting off (A key) is what helps me. I did not know that feature.

Hi Jiri,
I always switch OFF autorouting immediatly.
Maybe that's the reason I never had a need for the SPACE key while wiring...
Working without autorouting for me like driving a car with manual gears. But this is just personal preferences. Anyway, in near future the Artificial Intelligence will decide how to route and wire our wires. 😉
