Hi everybody,
I'm running into an issue whenever I try and configure the web application server. Whenever I try and open the web server configuration page it opens up the page in the browser and loads silverlight, then it pops up a window which says
"Could not retrieve configuration data from target. This could mean that the target's web server is temporarily unavailable or that your installation is corrupted. Please refresh your browser. If this problem persists, please contact National Instruments support".
- I've tried to look online for a solution but came up empty
- I was concerned about the corrupted installation bit so I repaired my labview installation
- This feature has worked for me in the past (up until last week actually)
- Is it possible that my companies IT department decided to suddenly start blocking the Labview server? (Cause that's all I can come up with right now
- I'm running Labview 2012
Any help would be greatly appreciated

In the last week (since it stopped working) did you install any LabVIEW/NI Software? What is the target - your PC or a CompactRIO/PXI/something else?
Check in Windows Services that the NI related services are running - things like NI Application Web Server, Configuration Manager, Network Discovery etc.

No new software was installed, I'm simply trying to view the VI from a web browser (not control). I had already looked through the running processes to check if the Web Server was running (it was not), I assumed that was due to this error. I also tried to run the Application Web Server from the national instruments program files in my hard drive, but no luck there either

You say you were trying to view the VI from a Web Browser - do you mean using Remote Front Panels?

Yes that's what I'm trying to do, but there seems to be an error whenever I try and start the webserver (that's my guess at least)

I managed to get into the configuration settings by changing the port number in the configuration settings under
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\NI WebServer\NIWebAppServer.conf
and changing the line
Listen [Port Number] to Listen [Desired Port Number]
