Custom Control resizing

Solved!
Go to solution

Thanks for the interest Tim - any chance you could save down to V8.5 please?

Not sure what you've done yet, but I've just been wondering whether a picture ring would give me much more flexibility here. Its getting late over on this side of the pond so I'll have another look at this tomorrow.

Cheers

Nice!

I ended up going down the route of a picture ring so that I could easily change the appearance for True/False states. In playing with this, I decided to generate an extra image for 'disabled and grayed' so that I could visually indicate when the button was not available as well as whether it was pressed or not.

After getting a little confused, I discovered that even though my boolean controls were transparent, setting them to 'disabled and grayed' applied the graying effect to the image beneath them.

To be honest, I don't think this should be the expected behaviour, but I was pretty pleased to discover it as it makes graying out a transparent control a useful thing to do.

Yes I just thought I could come up with something that could be sized automatically when the program was started. It seemed to work ok. I think there would be a few more things that I would do to finish this thought but I proved that I could do it if I had to. I suspect that you could have a reference to the button that you wnat to resize things to and a reference to the other two pictures behind it to make it easier to implimnet for multiple buttons. Just having a little fun anyway.
