Currently the vi that I am working on takes the measurement for the trigger, and the measurement for the background noise at two separate times. Is there a way to have labview get the trigger data and the background noise from the same waveform, in a sequential order?
Thanks

bbentelin,
What hardware are you using with VI? Also, where is the background noise that you are measuring coming from? Is it on the same line as your trigger
Thanks,

I'm using a PXI-1000B. Right now the program takes the signal data from the trigger, then takes data on the background noise. I think it is taking the background noise from a separate trigger so the two sets of data don't match up well error wise.
How would I set it up to notice the trigger, then simultaneously take its pretrigger and trigger data?
Thanks

bentelin,
Inside the PXI-1000B chassis, there should be at least one PXI card. Can you tell us the model number of the card that you are cabling your signals to?
Also, when you say the program is taking the background noise from a separate trigger, do you mean that you have two triggers that you are sending the system? Also, what background noise are you trying to measure? Are you measuring the noise that is on the same hardware line as the trigger you are reading?
Thanks,
Eric K

I think the problem is solved:
