What is wrong with that solution?
Just to be clear you are complaining about the actual dialog that comes up right? And not the control as it appears on the front panel? Because that control can be customized and there are several system style ones around.
As for the dialog, you are welcome to make a custom one and share it. I never really thought about how old it looked but you are right that other more modern (and touch friendly) UIs have been made for selecting a date and time, and LabVIEW could use a new one. Coding challenge anyone?
Edit: Oh and here is the .Net version that actually is pretty usable.
