I am soon going to implement an exe from 2013 onto a server of which network shared variables will be fed from a lab PC. Before I start down this road I want to be shure that when I compile the vi (that will be on the server) it will be in 64 bit. Having trouble finding the exact answer in literature.

Our IT person said it will only work if it is in 64 bit. Also it appears the version I am using is 32 (13.0f2). This is what defaulted when I open LV. Is there a way to default with 64? If so will all my vis simply re-compiel when opened in 64 bit version?

The 64 bit versions of labview require their own install. I tried a while back to install a 64 bit version of LV, and the only version I could find is LV 2014 64 bit. It was surprisingly hard to find older 64 bit LV versions on the NI website.
Should be around somewhere though, I'd think.
EDIT: A word.

I am uncertain and I am asking for a more detailed explaination from our IT person. I beleive it is or maybe a restriction on the server.

Can you get clarification from IT about this statement? Is there a random policy in place? Are they worried about anything specific?
A 32bit LabVIEW applications works fine on a 64bit OS (but not vice versa).

I agree that it maybe an artificial restriction and I will get clarification.

The only downside to 32-bit Labview I've found (in my limited experience) is a memory restriction, which is common to any 32-bit program. Other than that, 32-bit LabVIEW is usually what is recommended.

I just recieved an explanation form IT;"They do not make a 32 bit version of 2012 Server".
