Hello!
My lab has recently purchased a Compact-RIO unit for field research. Recently, we've wondered if the hardware comes with LabView pre-installed, or if we should plan to purchase an entirely new license for this unit. Due to upcoming deadlines, we want to get up and running ASAP when we receive the unit. In addition, if this unit were to not have LabView already installed, how would we go about getting the software on there?
Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A cRIO is usually shipped without any software installed because everyone uses different LabVIEW runtime and driver combinations.
If you already have the license for LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time module, and maybe LabVIEW FPGA module if you are using FPGA mode, you don't need to purchase any new license. But if this is your first time using cRIO, you might want to check if you have those licenses and software installed. You need those modules installed on your host Windows PC to do the development.
