EXE breaking when using "Fast file format" on LabVIEW 2023 Q3

Solved!
Go to solution

After upgrading my LabVIEW installation from 2023 Q1 to 2023 Q3, an executable that was working fine is breaking when trying to open a file dialog. The application works fine if when building the EXE remove the option Advanced->Fast File Format, however, it generates a gigantic executable (twice the size) that takes forever lo load up. Any comments on this?

I got it solved, it turns out that the project file got corrupted. The solution: Bring back the backup from the cloud and apply again the most recent changes manually.

I have also a project which hangs up during the build process of the executable.

It only works, if I disable the checkbox "Use fast file format".

I only have this issue with LabVIEW 2023 Q3.

Does anybody have similar experiences?

However, my project file seems not to be corrupted.

There is no warning and the content is the normal xml content.

Whereby all tags are closed and nothing is cut off.

Hello,

My solution was simple, I took the project back to 2023 Q1 and everything went back to normal. Actually, had to restore the backup before going back because it looks like the corruption in the project file was caused by the compilation effort in Q3. I don't think Q3 is ready to go.

Best regards

Davis
