Error while installing NI Statechart Module Package in LabVIEW 2019

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

According to information from the LabVIEW 2019 Platform Readme, in LabVIEW 2019 the Statechart Module moved to the LabVIEW Tools Network and can be installed using the JKI VI Package Manager.

When I try to install the package in LabVIEW 2019, the installation is aborted with the following error-message:

Statechart VI Package Installation error.PNG

Is there a workaround or fix for this issue?

Thanks,

Roger

I suggest you check the JKI web-site for help with the JKI Package Manager.

Spoiler
As least that is how the story went with previous issues using the JKI Package Manager.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for you answer.

I’m pretty familiar with JKI Package Manager and how it works. We as a company make our internal re-use packages with the Pro version.

The error is caused by the package itself. More precise: the error is caused by a post action where some Windows registry settings are set. It seems like this action is not allowed causing the installation to fail.

Most packages from NI have a support-topic where you can give this kind of feedback to the NI employee who created or maintains the package.  But currently the Statechart Module package hasn't and the reason why I post this in the more general LabVIEW board.

The error was caused by JKI Package Manager having no or not enough privileges to manipulate the Windows Registry.

Installation finishes successful when the permissions are elevated by running JKI Package Manager as administrator.

This is done by right-clicking on the shortcut or start menu-item of the JKI Package Manager and selecting "Run as administrator" from the menu.

Hello,

I guess statechart doesn't support 64 bit version of LabVIEW?
