Oh don't worry - once upon a time I also started with more questions than answers.
Just by jumping in a thread you can sometimes learn a lot. Also have a look at Darren's nugget - here http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=BreakPoint&message.id=1669 are the links to them. There you can learn interesting things about LV itself.
