Feedback request for Icon Editor new features on github

Hello,

I am working on a new set of features for the icon editor that would allow you to modify the icon library icon to the "NI_Library" layer when icon editor loads. This feature gets enabled via the icon editor settings.

The intention is to add these features to our next LabVIEW version if they prove popular with the crowd.

Can i please get help by opening the github issue and commenting on it if you have any feedback? Link to the git issue here -> https://github.com/ni/labview-icon-editor/issues/40

If the resolution is still the same you need to do better. Heck, you need to at least TEASE 256x256 pixels in the icon editor.

Makes sense, and i agree with you. If you are interested on having a 256x256 icon, can you please add this as a github issue? This way it can be explored and ill assign it to myself.

I said "At least 256x256"  the Idea Exchange already contains an increase Icon Resolution entry, no need to duplicate that on git.

And that signature should read LabVIEW Champion Emeritus 🏆. Just saying 😉

For my reference, this is the post you are referring to: Increase-Icon-Resolution

I will try to identify unit testable tasks that can be added as issues on the NI github repo, since i need to make sure they are unit testable so R&D can bring them to the next LabVIEW release.

If you want to check the status of your idea exchange post transformed into actions, you can always check our github page to see if we are executing on your idea.

If you don't see it there right away, you can always push us by adding a github issue and ill assign it to myself.

Thanks for your support, i had no idea about that post.

Additionally i modified my signature since emeritus sounds cooler than former... since i recently joined NI, i am no longer considered a champion, but i was one 😶.

Just added a github issue that links to your idea exchange post https://github.com/ni/labview-icon-editor/issues/44 and assigned it to myself.

Nice signature 👌

If I had a nickel for every IE post that I suggested that HAS been implemented.... I could buy myself a blue forum alias!

Sadly, "MyLabVIEW" and "Increase Icon Resolution" are two Ideas that have never changed status to "In Development" much less "Completed."

I am actually quite happy with the current icon size. I need space for real code on the diagram 😄

Resolution not size,  if I wanted to waste BD real-estate I would just deselect show subvi as icon!
