Granville Phillips Stabil Ion 370 Gauge Controller LabVIEW error

Hey everyone,

I am entirely new to LabVIEW. I am using a pre-written LabVIEW code for a pressure measurement system using Granville Phillips Stabil Ion Gauge controller. I am able to see the pressure reading on the controller display, but upon connecting the controller DB25 port to computer and running the labview code, I get an error message saying: Error -1073807360 occured at VISA Write. The screenshot of the error is attached.

It was working fine until some days ago.

Also I tried opening VISA test panel using NI MAX, but it shows error opening resource. Also I see an exclamation icon near the port under devices and interfaces in NI MAX. The screenshot of the error is also attached.

Can you please suggest on how to rectify this issue?

Thanks,

Telna

Check the COM port using the DeviceManager in Windows or using 3rd party tools like HTerm…

Can you confirm that the error persists even after a complete power down of the PC+device and restart of both?

One possible cause of the error is that the serial port gets reserved or otherwise in a locked up state, and a full power down might clear it.

Hi GerdW,

I checked the COM Port and it is the COM port that the device is connected. I disconnected and reconnected the device to assure the COM Port number. If you are asking me if the COM Port number is correct, yes the correct COM port is selected. Also, the baud rate, parity, stop bit, flow control are all same as per device's manual, labview code and the COM port settings in the device manager.

If you want me to check something else in the COM Port settings, please let me know.

Thanks,

Telna.
