Simple
While trying to change the background colours, try using the foreground colour as transparent and background colour as white. I've attached it herewith for your reference.

Thanq very much Subramanian.. the solution is simple, and it worked fine.It has made the lines disappear.I just need one more suggestion..is it possible to make the lines appear on all sides.

Yes ! It also follows the same way. I think you may miss the small border between the foreground and the background of the graph control.
For better precision,
1) maximize and then do the cosmetic changes and resize to your requirements or
2) Right click on the graph>> Advanced >> Customize. Click on the wrench icon in the toolbar to Toggle between the Edit mode and the customize mode.
Edit mode actually gives you the parts of the control and is recommended for advanced users.

As I indicated in my previous post , you fail to identify the narrow margin between the foreground and background of the graph. Try selecting contrasting colours for FG and BG and increase the size of your graph before experimenting , so that you could visualize the difference.
